A new DJI action camera has been discovered. It is small enough to fit in your pocket but still full of features. Leaked photos and a short video show the DJI Osmo Nano. This tiny model follows the Action 2, which came out four years ago. It aims to compete with Insta360’s Go line.
The Osmo Nano’s main feature is its modular design. The camera unit is very small, even smaller than the Action 2. It connects with magnets to a separate screen unit. You can clip the camera to your clothes, a hat, or even your pet’s collar to capture unique angles. You can then attach it back to the screen to watch or review your footage. Unlike the Insta360 Go 3S, which hides the camera in a case, the Osmo Nano’s screen can rotate. This makes it easy to film yourself or what you see, which is ideal for vlogging and outdoor use.
Leaked images show that the camera looks a bit larger when the two parts are connected. The magnetic mount gives you many options, such as attaching it to your chest or a tripod. It also comes with different storage options. There is a 128 GB model, and rumors suggest a 64 GB version as well. Both support microSD cards for extra space. The 64 GB model may cost about $431, while the 128 GB version could be $466, both cheaper than the Go Ultra.
Sensor size and image quality remain to be seen. With such a small body, low-light performance could be an issue. The Action 5 Pro delivered a big improvement in this area, but the Nano’s tiny body might limit its capabilities. Either way, the chance to slap it anywhere you can think of without risking your phone makes it a useful tool to have. Magnetic clips for your shirt or pet could add more options for skateboarders or pet owners.
