Viltrox Teases 11 New Products Including L-Mount Chip, EVO Pancake, and F1.2 Pro Primes
Viltrox is preparing a major product launch spanning 11 items across full-frame, APS-C, and Micro Four Thirds. Teasers from the China P&E Imaging Show and multiple retailer listings reveal a lineup that includes new mirrorless lenses, Viltrox’s first L-mount and MFT autofocus lenses, a tilt-shift design, and a high-speed sync flash.
New full-frame lenses
The AF 28mm F4.5 Chip for L-mount is Viltrox’s first lens for the Leica/Panasonic/Sigma L-mount alliance. It appears to be an ultra-compact manual focus pancake, prioritizing portability above all else.
The AF 26mm F2.8 EVO is a pancake-style autofocus lens for full-frame E-mount, following the same formula as the existing 20mm F2.8 FE. The EVO designation suggests a metal barrel with an aperture ring. A compact AF 28mm F2.8 is also on the way, likely a budget full-frame prime.
The previously reported AF 35mm F1.4 Pro remains part of the lineup as Viltrox’s flagship full-frame standard prime, targeting direct competition with the Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM and Sigma 35mm F1.4 DG DN.
APS-C Pro series expansion
The AF 18mm F1.2 Pro (27mm equivalent) and AF 35mm F1.2 Pro (52mm equivalent) join the existing 27mm F1.2 Pro and 75mm F1.2 Pro to create a four-lens F1.2 lineup for Sony E and Fujifilm X mount APS-C shooters. The 18mm fills the ultra-wide gap, while the 35mm provides a standard field of view at an extremely fast aperture.
Two more APS-C primes are coming in the EVO series: the AF 90mm F2.2 EVO (135mm equiv.) and AF 75mm F1.8 EVO (112mm equiv.), both positioned as compact, affordable telephoto options.
MFT, tilt-shift, and flash
The AF 25mm F1.7 Air is Viltrox’s first autofocus lens for Micro Four Thirds, giving a 50mm equivalent field of view in a compact, affordable package.
A manual focus tilt-shift lens is also in development. The exact specifications have not been confirmed, and it is unclear whether it will offer tilt, shift, or both movements.
Rounding out the lineup is a high-speed sync flash, Viltrox’s first entry into flash photography.
