Canon is set to introduce the RF 85mm F1.4 lens, expected to be announced on September 9. Designed for full-frame RF-mount cameras, it will join Canon’s recently released F1.4 prime lineup—including the RF 50mm F1.4, RF 24mm F1.4, RF 20mm F1.4, and RF 35mm F1.4—forming a cohesive series of large-aperture optics.
Like its counterparts, the new 85mm lens employs a VCM (Voice Coil Motor) for fast and quiet autofocus, making it suitable for both still photography and video applications. Consistent with the series’ design philosophy, it shares the same exterior mold and similar physical dimensions and weight, offering users a uniform handling experience across the set.
