Nikon is set to introduce the Zr, a dedicated video production camera featuring a brick-shaped body designed specifically for filmmakers. The model omits both the pentaprism and electronic viewfinder (EVF), blending design cues from RED cinema cameras, the Sony FX3, and the user-friendly form factor of the Nikon Z30.
The camera will incorporate multiple technologies and features from RED, following Nikon’s acquisition of the cinema brand. It is expected to use the same 24MP sensor found in the Nikon Z6 III and include a very large LCD screen for enhanced monitoring.
