On September 24, 2025, Panasonic has officially released Panasonic LUMIX S 100-500mm F5.0-7.1 O.I.S., a full frame ultra telephoto zoom lens for the L-mount system. This is the first Panasonic lens to reach 500mm in the LUMIX S lineup. It is designed for wildlife, motorsports, and outdoor photography, while also offering features optimized for video creators.
The lens supports Dual I.S. 2 stabilization with up to 7 stops of compensation. It uses a dual linear motor system for fast and silent autofocus. The optical design includes 19 elements in 12 groups, with multiple ED, UED, and UHR elements to reduce chromatic aberration and maintain sharpness across the zoom range.
For video shooters, the lens offers focus breathing suppression and micro step aperture control. It is compatible with Panasonic’s 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters, extending the reach up to 1000mm.
