ShutterCount 2 Mins Read

Tamron has officially launched the 70-180mm F2.8 Di III VC VXD G2 (Model A065) for Nikon Z mount full frame mirrorless cameras. This second-generation telephoto zoom builds on the success of the original Sony E-mount version, adding image stabilization and improved autofocus while maintaining a compact and lightweight design.

The lens features Tamron’s proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) system, offering enhanced handheld stability. Autofocus is powered by the VXD linear motor, delivering fast and precise performance for both stills and video.

Optical performance has been refined with a new design that maintains high resolution across the zoom range. The minimum focus distance at the wide end is just 0.3 meters, enabling semi-macro compositions and tabletop shooting.

The lens supports Tamron Lens Utility software, allowing users to customize functions for different shooting styles. It also includes weather sealing and a fluorine coating on the front element for outdoor reliability.

This release completes Tamron’s G2 trinity lineup for Nikon Z, covering 16-30mm, 28–75mm, and 70–180mm ranges.
