OM System is scheduled to launch the M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO professional telephoto zoom lens on September 10, 2025. As the second lens in OM System’s lineup to feature a white exterior, it draws design inspiration from the flagship M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO.
The M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO is natively designed for the Micro Four Thirds system—not adapted from a full-frame lens—resulting in a notably compact form. Despite offering a 4x zoom range and a constant F2.8 aperture, it maintains a 77mm filter thread size.
The white finish isn’t just for looks: it features a specialized coating that reduces infrared light absorption from sunlight, preventing internal heat buildup and ensuring consistent optical performance.
Based on leaked images, the M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO retains a compact profile and includes a range of physical controls. The lens is equipped with an AF/MF switch, IS on/off switch, focus range limiter, and a preset focus button. Additionally, an L-Fn function button is positioned every 90 degrees around the front barrel for quick setting adjustments in both horizontal and vertical shooting orientations.
The lens incorporates an optical image stabilization (IS) system designed to work synergistically with OM System’s in-body stabilization via Sync IS technology, promising significantly enhanced shake reduction for both photos and videos.
With the introduction of the M.Zuiko Digital ED 50-200mm F2.8 IS PRO, OM System continues to expand its professional Micro Four Thirds lens lineup, offering photographers a high-performance, portable solution covering 100-400mm equivalent focal lengths.
